Here at Advanced Kids Dentistry, we are thrilled to be using the Solea Laser.Â
This laser is made from new technology that reduces the need for local anesthetic injection and a drill for dental fillings in most cases.Â
What is the Solea Laser?
Cleared by the FDA, the Solea Laser is the first CO2 dental laser that’s cleared for hard and soft tissue procedures. Convergent Dental developed this laser in Boston, MA, based on research that was conducted at the University of California School of Dentistry. Guided by sophisticated computers, Solea offers a unique wavelength to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both the teeth and gums ranging from simple cavities to complex surgeries. The laser is also vibration-less and noiseless. You will find it hard to believe you were just at a dental appointment because the experience is so incredibly unique.Â
Why Solea?
In our office, most of the hard and soft tissue procedures are done with no anesthesia and soft tissue procedures are done with non to minimal bleeding. A major leap forward in dentistry is being able to provide blood-free and anesthesia-free procedures. What does that mean for you as our patient? Solea makes healing and time following a procedure much shorter because it is far less invasive than using a traditional drill. Solea gives our patients the ability to leave our office without that numb sensation following the appointment because you don’t have to get anesthesia. It is truly changing what it means to go to the dentist!Â
